Bookplate
A reading library you keep.
THIS LIBRARY BELONGS TOyou.
Save articles with one tap and read them beautifully, offline. Everything lives on your device and exports to a file any time — no account, always free, no server that can shut down on you.
IPHONE · ANDROID · MAC · WINDOWS — INSTALLS FROM THE BROWSER, NO APP STORE
Every read-it-later app kept your library on a company server. When the company stopped, the library went with it.

A service can be discontinued. A file on your device can't.
Clip anything
Paste a link — Bookplate fetches the article and files it in your library. Moving in from Pocket? IMPORT takes your whole export file in one go.
Reader view, offline
Just the words, set in proper book typography. Adjustable type size, PAPER and INK themes, and it works with no connection at all.
Export any time
One tap turns the entire library into a plain file you control. Finished pieces get the stamp — kept for good.
PUT IT ON YOUR HOME SCREEN — WORKS LIKE A REAL APP:
IPHONE · OPEN IN SAFARI → SHARE → ADD TO HOME SCREEN
ANDROID · CHROME OFFERS "INSTALL" AUTOMATICALLY COMPUTER · INSTALL ICON IN THE ADDRESS BAR
Free, unlimited, and yours. No account, no catch — always free.
Where does my library actually live?
In your browser's own storage, on your device. Bookplate has no accounts and no database — we literally couldn't read your saves if we wanted to. The Export button turns the whole library into a plain file you control.
What happens if Bookplate disappears?
The app keeps working, because it runs on your device — and your export file works forever. That's the whole point: nothing about your library depends on us existing.
How do I install it on my phone?
Open the app in your browser, then: iPhone — Share button → Add to Home Screen. Android — tap Install when Chrome offers it. Mac/Windows — install icon in the address bar. No app store involved. Full walkthrough in our setup & import guide.
Can I bring my Pocket saves over?
Yes. In the app, choose Import and hand it your Pocket export file — your links come across in one go. See the step-by-step Pocket import guide, or compare options in the best Pocket alternatives.
Is Bookplate really free?
Yes — the app is always free and unlimited, with no account. It's supported by ads on this website and a small ad inside the app that only appears while you're online. Your saved library is always private and on your device.
